The lovely linens you see were all designed by Shlomo Yekutieli. Shlomo was born in Harat, an ancient Jewish community in Afghanistan. As a child, Shlomo was fascinated watching fine craftsmen at work. He dreamed of one day producing such works incorporating Jewish motifs. After moving to Canada, his travels took him to Jewish communities, particularly in the far east. It was on one such trip to India that Shlomo set up his own workshop, employing local artisans whose families had been producing fine textiles for over 300 years.

Shlomo personally oversees the creation of each new design, from the hand-carving of intricate woodblocks to the mixing of the color-fast dyes. Then each tablecloth is individually made, by hand, sometimes requiring four-dozen different woodblocks

Although no two tablecloths are exactly alike, it is their very uniqueness that makes each item from Genny's Table something that you will treasure and use for years to come. We think you'll agree that these tablecloths are practically works of art. Our unique table linens are not machine made or mass produced. But they can go from your table to your washer and dryer, and back to your table with confidence. They're a perfect melding of craftsmanship and design - created for everyday use in the modern world.

Once color-fast dyes are applied, carvings are meticulously placed by hand.

A single element may require as many as 5 individual woodblocks.
